Emad A. Ayasreh is a Jordanian academic and scholar specializing in International Relations, with a focus on Foreign Policy, Diplomacy Studies, Strategic and Security Studies, and Global Governance. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies at Yarmouk University, a position he has held since September 2021. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Ayasreh has undertaken significant administrative roles, including his current appointment as Assistant Dean in the Deanship of Student Affairs since September 2024.
Dr. Ayasreh holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2016), where his doctoral research analyzed energy security within Jordan’s foreign policy framework from 2003 to 2014. He also earned a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Jordan (2011) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Yarmouk University (2006). At Yarmouk University, he teaches courses in strategic studies, foreign policy, geostrategy, and international relations, contributing to the academic development of students in these critical fields.
His administrative experience at Yarmouk University includes serving as Head of the Department of Politics and International Studies (September 2023–June 2024) and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts (March 2023–September 2023). Prior to joining Yarmouk University, Dr. Ayasreh was a faculty member and Directing Staff at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC) from April 2018 to September 2021. During his tenure at RJNDC, he served as Director of the International Relations Group, where he integrated global political and strategic studies into the curriculum, led strategic negotiation exercises, and fostered international collaborations with esteemed defense institutions, including the U.S. National Defense University.
Dr. Ayasreh has made substantial contributions to professional military and diplomatic education. He has designed and supervised numerous strategic exercises, such as the Strategic Negotiation Exercise, which emphasizes diplomatic negotiations and international conflict resolution, and the Senior Management and Leadership Course, aimed at advancing first secretaries to counselor-level positions. Additionally, he has delivered regional strategic assessments at the Geneva Center for Security Policy and coordinated academic partnerships to enhance global security discourse.
Through his research, teaching, and administrative leadership, Dr. Ayasreh continues to advance the study and practice of international relations, diplomacy, and strategic studies, both within Jordan and on the global stage.
