About Me

Dr. Amjed S. Al-Fahoum obtained his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan, in 1991 and 1995, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 2001. He is an associate professor at the Biomedical Systems and Informatics Engineering department. His current research interests are both array signal processing and biomedical engineering applications involving digital signal processing, pattern recognition, detection, estimation, artificial intelligence, image processing, and echo imaging techniques. He joined the electronic engineering Dept. at Yarmouk University in 2001and he is the founder of the Biomedical department. He served in many managerial and technical committees; he is the coordinator for many industrial related projects that are funded by government, international agencies, and private companies. Dr. Al-Fahoum published more than 45 research articles in refereed journals and presented numerous papers in scientific meetings. He has also written numerous internal technical documents based on his research and industrial consulting work. He served as the director for the Academic Entrepreneurship Center of Excellence,the director for the Biomedical Centre of Excellence, and chairman for Biomedical systems and Informatics engineering Dept. at Yarmouk University. In 2011, he joined the Electronic Engineering dept. at PSUT and served in departmental committees and university committees. In 2012/2013 he was appointed as the chairman for the Biomedical Systems and Informatics Engineering Department.​
