About Me

I have received my PhD degree in linguistics from the University of Manitoba, Canada. I’m currently an assistant professor of linguistics at the department of English language and literature/Yarmouk University, Jordan. I have more than eight years of experience in teaching linguistics. My research interests include critical discourse analysis, socio-pragmatics, humor, code-switching, politeness theory and syntactic theory. My work is couched within the Minimalist Program with special focus on A-bar movement, the cartography of the left periphery, and clitic doubling in different Arabic varieties. I have published several scholarly articles in international peer-reviewed journals covering different fields of linguistics.
