Prof. Samer Samarah is a professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Yarmouk University (2008–present). Prof. Samarah has held various administrative positions, including serving as the Vice President for Research, Development, and Accreditation at Yarmouk University from 2022 to 2024. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2008.

 

Prof. Samarah research interests focus on Data Analysis Techniques for Smart Environments, Internet of Things and Big Data Analysis. Prof. Samarah has many publications in his area, specifically, in the area of activity recognition in smart homes. In addition, Prof. Samarah held many Administrative and Academic positions at Yarmouk University; he was the Dean of Information Technology and Computer Science Faculty, and the manager of E-Learning Center.

Prof. Samarah has participated and presented in many specialized conferences, and represented Yarmouk University in many events. He is also a member of many prestigious boards, associations, councils, and committees in his discipline and in higher education in Jordan, in the region, and internationally.
