Thesis title: ‘An Exploration of Islamic Studies Curriculum Models in Muslim Secondary Schools in England’. (The central aim of the research was to critically investigate the current Islamic Studies curriculum models in British Muslim secondary schools; to examine the organisation of these models; and to explore the various stakeholders’ (pupils, parents, teachers, headteachers, governors and community leaders) perceptions concerning the taught curriculum).

 

MPhil. in Education (Part Time)

2002-2006: University of Huddersfield, School of Education, UK.

Thesis title: ‘Muslim Schools and the Teaching of Citizenship’. (thesis discussed the differences between Muslim and state schools, contrasting ways of delivering citizenship in Muslim schools, examining the role of Muslim schools in preparing pupils for a role in British society).

1995-1997: Yarmouk University, Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies.

(Courses included: Research Methodology in Education, Educational Thought in Islam, Principles of Islamic education, Curriculum theory and design, Curriculum Planning, Social and philosophical Foundations, Prominent Muslim Education, and Educational Administration in Islam).
