I
currently hold a position as an associate professor at the chemistry
department/ Yarmouk University in Jordan teaching undergraduate and graduate
courses in the fields of Organic and Computational chemistry since 2004.
For the
last three years, I have been managing the Applied Scientific Research Fund –
http://www.asrf.jo , a
non-for-profit company that I co-founded in 2011.
The fund
was intended to initiate and support research that will enrich the market with
new technological products and ideas and appraise the impact of research upon
industrial development.
During
those years, we funded more than ten projects, filed three US patents in
addition to several local Jordanian patents in the pipeline.
In 2008-2009, I had the
honor of joining the research group of the Nobel Laureate Professor
Roald Hoffmann at Cornel University via a Fulbright scholarship that I
attained from the U.S. Department of State. During that time, I had the
privilege of working with Professor Hoffmann in few research projects in the
field of computational chemistry and due to the complexity of the project, I
had to spend few months at Yale University in the research Group of
Professor William Jorgensen.
During
the past years I was fortunate to write several successful research grants with
collaborators from United States and Jordan for more than $ 500,000 US.
