Dr. Ghina’a Abu Deiab


Ghina’a Abu Deiab earned her B.S. in Pharmacy from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2006. In 2010, Ghina’a earned her master in Organic Synthesis from the same university. In 2012, Ghina’a went to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to pursue a Ph.D. in Medicinal Biochemistry in the group of Dr. Mitchell Croatt. She focused her graduate research on the synthesis and biological evaluation of neuroprotective agents against ischemic stroke and successfully defended her thesis in 2016. Ghina’a then went back to Jordan to start her independent academic career as an assistant professor at Applied Science University in February 2017.

Ghina'a Abu Deiab is teaching and doing research in both Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. In particular, her group is working on the design and synthesis of medicinal agents, specifically CNS and anticancer agents.

Besides, doing research in "teaching methodologies" linking Medicinal Chemistry​/Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology/Clinical Therapeutics.​
