Alsukhni obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science in 2011 form School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), University of Ottawa, Canada. After his graduation he joined Yarmouk University as an assistant professor in. he got promoted to Associate Professor in 2019. Alsukhni tough many graduate and undergraduate courses at Yarmouk University like Introduction to Information Systems, information retrieval, data science, Database System, Software Engineering, Systems Analysis and design, Web Design, Human Computer Interaction, Advanced Distributed Computing and Advance Computer Networks. Alsukhni research interests include Data Science, Software and Information Systems Testing, Cyber Security, Computer Networks, , Information Retrieval and Data Mining. He is the author of several publications on these topics.​
