About Me

Prof. Alyassin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with summa cum laude from St. Mary’s University and received his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from University of Texas Health both at San Antonio Texas. Post-graduation, he obtained ample industrial experience while working at General Electric Company – Global Research Center, NY. While at GE, he was an adjunct professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering at Union College. His passion for teaching landed him a fulltime position at Yarmouk University in the Physics Department teaching Medical Physics and Physics courses. He also taught for several years in the Nuclear Engineering department at King Abdalaziz University, Saudi Arabia leading him to have copious academia experience nationally and internationally. Dr. Alyassin holds several international patents and published numerous scientific publications. Among the many awards he received, was the golden medal for patent-invention, the Dushman award, and he became an ABET champion leading several programs at KAU to successful accreditations. Currently, he is a full professor at YU.
