I received my M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Washington University in St.
Louis under the advisement of Professor Raj Jain in 2007 and 2010, respectively. I joined Yarmouk
University as an assistant professor in 2010. My research interests include multimedia networks
and applications, data modeling and simulation, computer security, and Internet of things (IoT). I
am currently motivated by the promising potentials of the merging of IoT and Big Data fields.
I have been working on improving students skills and planting the seeds of entrepreneurship into
them. These efforts were crowned by the founding of both Orange-Yarmouk Innovation Lab (OYIL)
and Research and Industry (RnI) incubators, and the exemplary results achieved through competing
in both national and international contests.
