Dr. AHMAD ALOMARI
456, Pragri flat, varacha road, Surat Gujarat, India.
Prof. Alomari — a powerhouse of transportation innovation, where academia meets real-world impact. He is a professor of civil engineering at Yarmouk University (Irbid, Jordan). He combines 16 years of academic research and teaching experience, along with industry experience in the private sector (as a traffic engineer and transportation planner). He blends academic research with practical, data-driven solutions.Prof. Alomari received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation) in 2015 from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, United States. The dissertation topic focused on evaluating the effectiveness of bus rapid transit (BRT) strategies using new methodologies. His Ph.D. research was supported by the City of Orlando, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) at the same university. In 2016, he joined the Civil Engineering Department at Yarmouk University, and later, he served as Head of the Department during the period between 2017 and 2019. In 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. In 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Full Professor. He authored/co-authored over 55 research papers in international journals and received several local and international awards and research grants. Besides his rich academic experience, Prof. Alomari's field experience varies in traffic operations and transportation engineering projects/studies, including but not limited to traffic operations studies such as analysis and design of intersections/interchanges, intelligent transportation system studies such as transit signal priority (TSP) applications, traffic impact studies, traffic safety studies such as wrong-way driving and road safety audits, and development of public transportation studies. Also, he was involved in lecturing at training program centers for the following topics: traffic modeling and simulation, public transportation concepts, urban transportation planning, and computer software applications in transportation engineering (e.g., VISSIM, VISUM, CORSIM, HCS+, and SIDRA). He is committed to empowering the next generation of engineers. He mentors students, guides research, and builds capacity through training programs in collaboration with global organizations. In April 2024, Prof. Alomari joined Consolidated Consultants Group (CCG) as a traffic and transportation expert. He contributed to transformative projects — from enhancing school zone safety to advising on strategic mobility initiatives.
