About Me

I won a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and started my Ph.D studies at Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine exploring the cytokine network and immune response in an animal filarial model. After coming back home I have started training students at Yarmouk University on modern methods of immunization as gene and peptide immunization and producing high affinity monoclonal antibodies. About 40 master students have graduated from my lab and our team published more than 50 papers in scientific journals. In 2005 together with antibody experts from Jordanian universities and with the help of the higher council for scientific research we founded the first Biotech Company for antibody production (MONOJO). I headed the Research and Development (R&D) department as full time from 2010-2015. During that time the company has secured 3 US patents and 2 UK patents and produced the first camel antibody based product for Acne treatment (Skinue TM). Additionally, I participated in several workshops as trainer in the field of biosimilar production and QC. Moreover, I am considered as expert and consultant by the jFDA for biotherapeutic industry auditing and accreditation and accompanied their team for site visits to Biopharma in Denmark and Argentine. During my carrier I succeeded in gaining good experience in linking the scientist in the academia with the industrial sector in the field of biotechnology.
